Celebrating Chaula Thacker: Honored for Her Distinguished Service to the Arts

Recognizing a lasting contribution to arts and culture in our community.

Nadanta proudly celebrates Artistic Director Chaula Thacker, recipient of the 2026–2027 Nancy Coumoundouros Distinguished Service to the Arts Award, presented by the Farmington Area Arts Commission.

This recognition honors outstanding service to the arts and the community. A dedicated dancer, choreographer, educator, and artistic innovator, Chaula has devoted her career to sharing the richness of Indian classical and folk dance, nurturing artistic expression, and connecting communities through the power of performance.

We are delighted to see her contributions recognized alongside fellow honoree Ismael Ahmed, whose award was presented posthumously.

Congratulations to Chaula Thacker on this well-deserved recognition! We invite our Nadanta community to join us in celebrating this wonderful achievement and her continued contributions to the arts.
